That's Our Ma, You Monster!

A Shadowdark adventure for level 1.  Part of the Weird Tales Shadowdark Game Jam.

I use the serpent and the bird to represent archetypes of mothers. A dragon can be strong and reliable, but it can also be quite toxic. A phoenix can be beautiful and kind, but it can be childish, fickle, or even have an alzheimer's. The adventure heavily utilises random table. The most important tables are the first three which create your mother. This will heavily affect the rest of the adventure, including the dungeon itself! The other will become the antagonist. A flea represents your prodigal brother, an insect master druid.

You are teenagers (Lv.1) who live in a small hamlet with your mystical adoptive mother. One day, your prodigal brother asks for your mother’s help exploring a nearby cave. After an hour, your mother sends a telepathic message to you: run! You disobey her. You will venture into the shadow dark cave to rescue her.

You have 2 real time hours to save her. Your time starts now!
